| PugJelly Band's own website : http://www.pugjelly.com Pug Jelly released their debut EP in May 2003, and since then have gained a loyal base of fans and had an awesome time gaining exposure and experiance. It was no easy feat for the boys to get where they are. It all started In September 2002 when they started working on the EP with producer/engineer - Ben Rosen - who is known for his work with acts like Unwritten Law, Grinspoon and 28 days. They chose 5 songs they had been playing for the past few months and began recording. 6 Months and god knows how much beer later, the guys emerged from hiding in Song Zu Studios Singapore and headed to Australia to master the EP. Whilst in Australia mastering; Sam (Vocalist, Bassist and Songwriter) thought it would be a good idea to do an acoustic number for the EP. He recorded "Give or Take". Good move Sam. This was chosen by Power 98, Perfect 10 and WKRZ (to name a few) and played on High Rotation. Making it into the top 100 songs for 2003. Pug Jelly were the only local/locally based band in the chart. A month or two after the release of the EP the guys shot a Red Cross Television Commercial, were featured in magazines like "Lime" and had their mug shots in just about every english written newspaper in the country. The Pugs started playing bigger scale shows, such as Baybeats, American Peace Concert and they even did opening act for Sum 41. The fan base was growing, and being asked for autographs were everyday questions. The guys new this couldn't last forever unless they got their heads together. It didn't take them long to realise they needed to start work on an album. So they started demoing their new songs and hit Snakeweek studios with producer/engineer Leonard Soosay. They have been in the studio since October 2003 and we want to hear what they've got! Prepare for a shock... they've gone through line up changes, girlfriends, tattoo artists and copious amounts of alcohol and have recently been officially sponsored by Money Shot Clothing. Sam, Matt and Masashi are about to show the world what Pug Jelly really is... discography |
